Exciting news with Hollywood Private Hospital in Perth recently purchasing both the MAKO and ROSA knee replacement surgical robots. This is the first hospital in Perth to offer both surgical systems allowing surgeons to offer bespoke surgical options to our patients.
The knee replacement surgical robots allow for accurate bony cuts and implantation of the prosthesis. Hollywood is the first hospital in Perth to acquire the ROSA surgical robot (ZIMMER). The MAKO surgical robot (STRYKER) is available at Hollywood in addition to St John of God (Subiaco / Murdoch / Midland), Joondalup Health Campus and the Mount Hospital.
Each surgical robot is linked to it’s company specific prosthesis and offers unique benefits. It is my current preference to utilise the MAKO robot for partial knee replacement and the ROSA surgical robot for total knee replacement.
